Many clubs these days are handing out belts to their students like candy on Halloween. This is done for a variety of reasons. One being the need to have senior students to help teach. Another reason is to keep the student interested by rewarding him with belts. Not only does this water down the meaning of the belts it gives the student a false sense of knowledge in that particular martial art. If a student or assistant was a white belt a year ago and is now a blue belt, something is definitely wrong.....See link for more details

After being at another local club for the past year and a half, it has become time for Blue Jiu Jitsu club to re-open in Midland. The old group of instructors and students have re-united to form the only club in the Midland area to have such a diverse and high level of experience. The club is focusing on its high level of training and it is going back to its roots where the club is run as a club and not a business with profits in mind.
