Blue Jiu Jitsu

Blue Jiu Jitsu's Dojo. It is located in the basement of my house but there are many advantages to this. First it keeps class size to a minimum due to the physical size of the dojo. With smaller classes comes more one on one time with the instructor which leads to quicker learning. The dojo has just been fitted with brand new 2" Polyethylene mats which are stiff enough for standup fighting but aborb the energy of a fall. Unlike most basements this one has plenty of ceiling height so as no to interfere with throws. The club might move to a larger facility in the future but for the time being we're happy right where we are.....

Some of the equipment used in the dojo are heavy bags, focus pads, thai pads, kick shield, medicine balls, protective equipment and boxing gloves, and a 5'X10' crash mat that is used when learning new throws so as not to hurt the one being thrown (Uke).
